SARAH Law has replaced the uncapped Holly McIntyre in the Scotland squad for this month’s WXV2 tournament after the latter was ruled out by a knee injury suffered in training.

One of the most experienced internationals currently playing, Law, a stand-off, reached the 50-cap landmark last year. Highly respected by the squad for her shrewd game management and calmness under pressure, she scored the late conversion against Ireland in 2021 that took Scotland to their first Rugby World Cup in 12 years.

McIntyre was one of three uncapped players in the 30-woman squad selected for WXV2 alongside Demi Swann and Fiona McIntosh. A versatile back who has most recently been seen as an outside centre, she graduated to Bryan Easson’s senior squad after impressing for the Thistles in the Celtic Challenge competition which preceded this year’s Six Nations.
