Well that’s Super Six over for this season. Did anyone notice ? Judging by the poor attendance at the final it wasn’t a crowd puller with the crowd at the Hawick v Jedforest match last Saturday far more impressive.
What a shame the GHA motion to replace Super Six with a revised district championship was not carried at the SRU agm. What do the Super Six players now do for the rest of the season ?
TBF hasn’t COVID pushed the final closer into the colder months?
Crowd looked OK, it was a miserable day. Seeing rugby in Summer months is great and the league is competitive.
The trouble is the Super Six consists of artificial teams which have no tradition and history (certainly whilst the likes of the Edinburgh teams and Stirling continue to play in the national leagues) so no matter how good the rugby is they have no identity so it is little wonder attendances are low.
6 squads of 30 odd players now twiddling their fingers not playing rugby till springtime .
Tell me what good is that doing for Scottish rugby .
Dodson’ folly’
It is a strange situation
It looks like there’s an editing error in the sixth place in the final ranking table — unless an individual replaced Heriot’s for sixth place. If so, well done to him.
Fixed now. A bit of Monday morning doziness there!
