THE fixture schedule for the 2024 FOSROC Super Series Sprint – likely to be the last competition played before the part-time professional tier is disbanded – has been announced.

In theory, Super Series is here until the end of the Championship this Autumn, but in reality there is little appetite among the six clubs involved and the Scottish Rugby Union to carry on into the 2024-25 season following the announcement two weeks ago that franchises for the part-time professional league are not going to be extended beyond their original five year terms.

Edinburgh A and Glasgow Warriors A will once again compete in the Sprint, with each pro team’s development side playing three games each in rounds one, three and five of the competition. There will be six rounds in total followed by a play-off weekend when 1st in the final league table will play 2nd, 3rd will play 4th and 5th will play 6th.

Darcy Graham will be sidelined for three to four months after surgery

  1. If this is finishing soon, why not set out the rules to under 23/25 years only plus maybe two older heads in a team permitted but not at half back or scrum half possibly ( blocking essentialy needed positions ) ?
It’s not like Scottish pro rugby needs to find the best older blokes… for me that’s what S6 should of been from day one 🤷‍♂️
