14 MATCHES in the upcoming FOSROC Super Series Sprint will be shown live on either BBC Alba, the Scottish Rugby website, the BBC Sport Scotland website or BBC iPlayer, with highlights of all matches available on the Scottish Rugby website.

Grant McKelvey, Scottish Rugby’s Head of Performance Programs said: “It’s a hugely exciting time for those involved in the FOSROC Super Series. The broadcasting of 14 live matches will allow us to shine a spotlight on the next generation of professional players, coaches and match officials in Scotland, whilst providing a platform to showcase what is sure to be an entertaining seven weeks of rugby.

“We’re committed to providing more high-performance opportunities and with the addition of A teams from both Edinburgh Rugby and Glasgow, this provides players from the six licence teams an opportunity to challenge themselves against new and different opposition.”

Scottish Rugby Head of Marketing, Jeremy Bone, added: “It’s great news that we can once again broadcast the FOSROC Super Series Sprint to a worldwide audience and we’re delighted to welcome BBC ALBA back on board as our broadcast partner for the Friday night matches.

“BBC ALBA have a played a key role in promoting Scottish rugby over the years and we are excited this partnership is continuing this season. The additional of the online coverage through the BBC website and iPlayer will make the games accessible to fans on a variety of platforms and devices too.”

  1. Is there no YouTube option as in the last 2 seasons.
    For fans outside the UK this is crucial.

  2. Super 6 franchises were awarded in November 2019 for
    5 years .
    Will the SRU openly review its progress to date before
    deciding what follows it from 2024 onwards ?

  3. At least with Alba the production values will be decent. The Premier sports (now Viaplay) coverage would have shamed an amatuer with a ten year old mobile phone. Has to said though that the iPlayer coverage has been patchy in the past with both this and other rugby tournaments in terms of games being missed out due to unannounced schedule changes.
