Dropped one high one early on and was peppered with bombs thereafter but generally coped pretty well. Showed that he can still lift a whole stadium running from deep but then got himself in a real mess waiting for a devilish toe-poke through by Ford to cross the line and it slid awkwardly in the sodden turf for what looked like an opportunist score for Farrell. While the TMO gave him the benefit of the doubt, England scored from the next phase. It was the last thing the skipper needed after last week’s howler against Ireland.

A tough afternoon to be a winger. Had to wait until just before the hour mark for his first real involvement and when it came he will be frustrated that he couldn’t read the high ball in the wind which meant a decent attacking opportunity slipped by, then lost possession in contact a few minutes later, so a frustrating 80-minutes generally.
13. Huw Jones – 5
Few chances to shine but did have England on their toes when he raced onto Hastings’ chip ahead near the end of first half. By and large, kept Jonathan Joseph in check, which will be be a huge relief to those who remember Twickenham 2017, before being replaced by Chris Harris on 55 minutes.
12. Sam Johnson – 6
A huge hit on Jonny May straight from kick-off set the tone to a promising start. Worked hard to inject impetus, went route one whenever the opportunity presented itself, but there wasn’t much doing.
11. Blair Kinghorn – 6
Made good ground, jinking past three defenders in the most entertaining moment of the first half, but was swallowed up in contact and turned over, which kind of summed up Scotland’s day. Threatened throughout.

10. Adam Hastings – 7
Coped well with the treacherous conditions. Kicked with purpose and made himself available the whole time, in contrast to opposite number George Ford, who went missing. But hard to escape feeling that Scotland lack an edge without ‘he-who-must-not-be-named’.
9. Ali Price – 7
Had England on their heels with an early snipe and was a threat all afternoon. A balanced all round performance but he needs a box-kick, especially on days like this.
1. Rory Sutherland – 7
Torrid afternoon in the scrum but hung in there. Carried well with a barnstorming burst early in the second half setting up Scotland’s best period, ultimately leading to Hastings’ penalty which squared it at 3-3. Further evidence that he is a genuine international standard player.
2. Fraser Brown – 5
Had a nightmare with the line-out darts in a treacherous wind, and it seemed to effect the rest of his game. Big responsibility as pack leader but it his job to focus on the basics, and not be diverted into petty niggles. Replaced by McInally on 52 minutes.
3. Zander Fagerson – 7
Solid again in scrum and a huge effort around the park carrying, tackling and hitting rucks.
4. Scott Cummings – 6
Gave away an early free-kick for closing the gap at a line-out, a penalty for not rolling away from the tackle and another penalty for offside (although it may have been a case of mistaken identity) during the first 10 minutes, which helped hand the initiative to England after a positive Scottish start. Ultimately out-powered but kept fronting up to fearsome opposition without flinching.
5. Jonny Gray – 6
You never get anything less than 110 percent effort. Up against huge and imposing specimens. Had possession ripped from him by Sinckler in the tackle on 50 minutes as Scotland were trying to turn the screw at 3-3. Line-out woes were not helped complicated calls.
6. Jamie Ritchie – 6
A difficult afternoon slamming doors shut against a fast, talented and well-organised back-row unit, consisting of three ferocious open-side dogs.
7. Hamish Watson – 6
Heroic rearguard performance. Constantly on the back-foot and out-manned. Suffered from the apparent deliberate under-commitment of the props and second-rows to the breakdown.
8. Magnus Bradbury – 6
Stood his ground with real aggression early on, but few opportunities to take the game to England with ball in hand.

Had a big impact and is breathing down the neck of Brown for the starting shirt against Italy.

Played the last 21 minutes but is now very much second-fiddle to Sutherland.

Demolished in his first scrum and gave away the penalty in front of the posts which allowed Farrell to take the game decisively away from Scotland.

A tough game to get into after replacing Cummings on 56 minutes.

England forwards were well on top during the 24 minutes he was on and, at outside centre, he wasn’t going to change that.
think you have been far too generous with the marks,england were bad ,but boy scotland have got to learn the basics,who is coaching them for line outs ,get him or her sacked,you cant give away so many easy penalties and expect to win games,but hey the rules are not for scotland
Only winner was the weather. Not idea! conditions for the kind of rugby Scotland can play, given the opportunity. A wet, windy lottery that picked England for the winning ticket. Next time!
