Scotland Under-18s match versus England is cancelled

The age-grade international was supposed to be played at Mansfield Park on Sunday afternoon but has been called off due the coronavirus threat

THE Under-18s clash between Scotland and England which was due to be played at Mansfield Park in Hawick on Sunday has been cancelled in response to the evolving COVID-19 outbreak.

“The health and safety of the teams, staff and supporters is paramount and it is in the best interests of everyone that the game is not played at this time,” said a statement issued by Scottish Rugby.

“Scottish Rugby thanks Hawick RFC as the host club for the match, as well as supporters for their patience and understanding during this time,” the statement added.

  1. And we’re not concerned about the ““The health and safety of the teams, staff and supporters” attending the big game on the Saturday?

    I’m sure cancelling this game is the correct thing to do but considering the numbers attending surely this is the lesser risk.
