Ireland ground out a 23-10 win over a gritty Georgian side on Sunday afternoon meaning they finish second in Group A, while Scotland are guaranteed the same finish in Group B.

  1. Do any of you actually support Edinburgh, well I do and I would like them to win something under Richard Cockrill this year, having the players away for this tournament and the Six nations makes life very difficult.

  2. I can’t disagree with the pointlessness of this 3rd place play off. However, any opportunity to get this group further game time is a good thing from a coaching point of view.

I think Ireland are there for the taking, and we should use this as an exercise in rolling out that template we want to play, and we know that we can play. We do not want to get into an arm wrestle with Ireland. They got drawn into that by England and Georgia. We should learn from that.

we need to end this year with our tails in the air.
