  1. In the first instance if either of the 2 captains deem the pitch unplayable the game is cancelled.
Thereafter if the game begins it is the referee who adjudicates whether the pitch is playable on the grounds of player safety.

  2. Similar issues elsewhere with late call-offs. My son and a few pals headed up to watch the GHA V Glasgow Accies game (about a 50 minute drive). Think it was called off about an hour before kick-off? Anyway, it was ON when they left home, and OFF by the time they got there. Not great…

Heard a game lower down the National Leagues pre-Christmas was called-off by the ref about 10 minutes before kick-off!

  3. I and Donnie travel up to currie. Phoned at 10. 30 game on got there at 12.30 game off. Poor in every way. About time SRU. Enjoyed criteria for premiership rugby. Ie stand and floodlights. Currie should let all away supporters in for free when game played. Only decent and right. Total joke for a game to be called off at that time.

      • Hawick rfc critical also of how it was called off when Team bus on Edinburgh city by pass .
Whoever made this decision has to think of people travelling to match from afar .
You’re talking 100 plus wasted miles travelled to Hawick supporters .
        A wasted day for many
Not good enough Currie rfc .

      • Not bad patter at all mouse. Our groundsman of many years experience thought it was playable which is why we asked Hawick to travel. Unfortunately the referee decided otherwise an hour before kick off. End of story. We were as frustrated as you in the decision.
