OLI KEBBLE is the latest current Glasgow Warriors player to sign a contract extension with the club, with the 29-year-old prop putting pen to paper on a deal for an unspecified period of time.

The South Africa-born Scotland international initially joined the club in the summer of 2017, and has now made 72 appearances for the Scotstoun outfit, as well as being capped 11 times. He is the son of former Springbok prop Guy Kebble.

“I’m stoked to be staying,” said Kebble. “It was a really easy decision for both my partner and I – we both really wanted to stay and I’m delighted to get the deal over the line. Glasgow has really become a home for us. The environment that the club offers not just for players, but for families, is second to none and we couldn’t be happier to be staying.

“There’s so much young talent coming through, and I sometimes have to pinch myself that I’m one of the more experienced heads in the squad now – I’m still young at heart! These guys are going to make us so much stronger and they’re going to develop into key players for this club.

“I’m excited for what’s to come in a Glasgow Warriors jersey – this club is building really nicely with one of the strongest squads since I’ve been here, the future is looking bright and it’s a great time to be a Glasgow Warrior.”

Head coach Danny Wilson added: “It’s great that Oli has committed his future to the club. He is an outstanding scrummager and a huge physical presence. His ability to play on both sides of the scrum has been an asset to us this season and we’re pleased that he is going to be a part of our pack for the foreseeable future.”
