THE LIONESSES invitational side are set to make a triumphant return to the Melrose Sevens in 2024, after winning the Mike Bleasdale Cup in 2023.

“We’re really excited to be returning to the home of Sevens, to defend our title. It’s an opportunity that I’m sure the girls will be really excited for,” said Arun Watkins, Founder of Lion Rugby 7s Rugby and The Lionesses.

Tournament Director, Phil Morris, added: “Having the defending champions, The Lionesses, return to the Greenyards adds an extra layer of excitement to the upcoming Melrose Sevens. Their performance last year was nothing short of spectacular and we look forward to witnessing their skill, determination and sportsmanship once again.”
