DAVE Rennie has made wholesale changes to his Glasgow team for tomorrow’s Champions Cup game against Lyon, with only four players keeping their places from last week’s league win over Scarlets. Tighthead prop D’Arcy Rae and back-row Adam Ashe are the two retained forwards, with Ashe moving from No 8 to blindside, while George Horne and Nick Grigg again start at scrum-half and outside centre respectively.

The selection of Grigg means that Huw Jones only gets a place on the bench for the Pool Three game. With Callum Gibbins and Matt Fagerson alongside Ashe in the back row, there is no place for Ryan Wilson.

Loosehead Oli Kebble, a substitute last week, begins the game in France in place of Alex Allan, who was sent off in the first half against Scarlets and has since been given a three-week ban. Siua Halanukonuka, who had an impressive outing off the bench in the 29-20 win for the 14 men, is again among the replacements, as is Tim Swinson, who made his first start of the season last week after a long absence through injury.

“It’s exciting to be back playing in Europe,” Rennie said. “We’re really proud of our performances during the international window and to get 16 points against top opposition was really pleasing. We’ve picked a 23 based on form for both club and country and we’re looking forward to the challenge Lyon will present.”
