WASPS have signed Glasgow Warriors back-five forward and current Scotland squad member Kiran McDonald. The 6ft 8ins 27-year-old, who previously played for Glasgow Hawks, will move to the English Premiership club at the end of this season

“We are thrilled to be adding Kiran to our squad for 2022-23,” said Wasps head coach Lee Blackett. “We have been following his progress for the last couple of years and Kiran is currently enjoying his best season so far at Glasgow.

“Kiran is a great athlete with a lot of potential, he has the ability to play at six or second row, that flexibility will be vital for us over the course of next season.”

McDonald added: “I am very excited to be joining Wasps. The brand of rugby the club play is great to watch, and I am looking forward to being a part of the Wasps family.

“The ethos of the club is one that feels like a good fit for me, and I hope I can contribute to some exciting wins next season.

“I can’t wait to wait to feel the buzz at Coventry Building Society Arena next season!”

Warriors head coach Danny Wilson said: “We’re obviously disappointed to see Kiran leave the club, but when he does, we will wish him well.

“This season he’s played well for us and has earnt his call up to the national squad.

“When he returns to us from Scotland duty, I’m sure he’ll be as determined as ever to end his time here on a high.”
