Japan added to Scotland’s Autumn Test schedule

Australia and South Africa are also set to appear at Murrayfield during November

JAPAN have joined Australia and South Africa on Scotland’s Autumn Test schedule it has been announced, with the match scheduled to be played at Murrayfield on Saturday 20th November.

It will be the Brave Blossoms’ second appearance at the national stadium inside the space of five months because they are also set to take on the British and Irish Lions there in a pre-tour match on 26th June.

The last time Scotland faced Japan was in Yokohama at the 2019 World Cup, when the host nation booked their place in the knock-out stage of the tournament with a 28-21 victory.

Kick-off times for all three Autumn games will be confirmed in due course, with individual match tickets scheduled to go on sale in July.

2021 Autumn Internationals (all BT Murrayfield):

  • Scotland v AUSTRALIA (Sunday 7 November, kick-off TBC)
  • Scotland v SOUTH AFRICA (Saturday 13 November, kick-off TBC)
  • Scotland v JAPAN (Saturday 20 November, kick-off TBC)

  1. I think we need to lay some ghosts to rest with two of these, and give them a shoeing. 2019 was not a good time for us in terms of Japan and we did beat Australia in 2015. I don’t give a sh*t what anyone says Joubert robbed us of a semi-final that day , and I believe that we can put them both to the sword.

    I know we beat Australia in 2017 by a large margin but we need to do it again.

    SA however, we need to see what team turns up for the Lions. At least Townsend and Tandy will be ringside for that. But we should run them close.
