HOOKER Harri Morris is leaving Edinburgh Rugby’s academy to join Doncaster Knights on a season-long loan. The 21-year-old will link up with two members of Glasgow Warriors’ academy, Rhys Tait and Archie Smeaton, who this week have moved to the Yorkshire club on permanent deals.
“I’m really excited to make the move to Doncaster this summer and test myself in a new environment,” Morris said. “I’ve heard really positive things about the club and I’ve got no doubt increased playing time at senior level will really help elevate my game.
“I want to keep progressing as a hooker so I’m really grateful of this opportunity with Doncaster. If I perform well, I can hopefully kick on and return to Edinburgh as a much more rounded player at the position.”
Academy Coach Rob Chrystie said: “Harri is an exciting young player who has recently converted from back row to hooker. This season-long loan is an important part of his long-term development plan.
“He will continue to receive our full support, and we are really looking forward to seeing him play week in and week out in the Championship before returning to Edinburgh Rugby to compete for a first-team spot.”
