GLEN TIPPETT is to leave his current role as General Manager of the Ayrshire Bulls Super6 franchise to become Head of Commercial for Glasgow Warriors.

The New Zealander has been a big figure at Millbrae for more than two decades as a player, coach and most recently a committee man. After leaving his role as schools and youth manager for Glasgow South in the Scottish Rugby Development Department in the summer of 2018, he joined Ayr on a full-time basis in 2019, predominately overseeing the clubs commercial operations as well as logistical and managerial duties.

“During his tenure the club has gone from strength-to-strength bringing in a wealth of new sponsorship,” said a statement issued by Ayr RFC. “He has also been key to positioning the club in the heart of the community with local partnerships and initiatives. A fruitful period of investment off the pitch was replicated with success on it, with Ayr winning a league and cup double and the Bulls a maiden FOSROC Super6 title during this time.”

Club President Drew Young said: “Glen will be sorely missed from Millbrae but we are equally delighted that he’s been given such a great opportunity. We wish him all the best and thank him for the tireless work he did for the club”.

Meanwhile, Glasgow Warriors Managing Director Al Kellock added: “Glen was the stand-out applicant in our recruitment process for the Head of Commercial. Particularly because of his successes growing Ayrshire Bulls’ portfolio of sponsors.

“He also brings a wealth of knowledge from his time working in the community game. This is a valuable asset as we strive to continue to have an impact in the lives of people in our city and across the west.”

Tippett has stressed that he will continue to support both Ayr and the Bulls when time permits.

The club is actively recruiting a suitable replacement. For more information click HERE.
