RYAN Wilson is back in the Glasgow Warriors team for the Champions Cup return match against Lyon – one of eight changes from the team that began last week’s win in France. Wilson takes over from Adam Ashe, while George Turner is at hooker in place of Fraser Brown, who will be out for eight to 10 weeks as a result of the knee injury he sustained against Lyon last Saturday.

There are two other alterations in the pack, with Siua Halanukonuka taking over at tighthead prop from D’Arcy Rae and Tim Swinson replacing Rob Harley at lock. In the back division, Ali Price is at scrum-half instead of George Horne, Niko Matawalu takes over on the wing from DTH van der Merwe, Huw Jones replaces Nick Grigg at 13, and Stafford McDowall is preferred to Pete Horne at 12.

“We got five points away from home against a strong French side, so we are happy with that,” head coach Dave Rennie said. “We weren’t as clinical as we would have liked to have been, but we are working hard driving expectations and putting in a performance that we are really proud of. It was a job well done, but we reckon we have a little bit more in us.

“There is not a hell of a lot between individuals within our squad, so we don’t believe that any changes weaken us. When you look at it across the board, we have good players coming in and it gives them an opportunity to make a bit of a statement heading into a couple of local derbies.”

Glasgow are second in Pool Three on 10 points, a point behind Saracens, after their bonus-point win in France last week. Cardiff Blues are third on four points, while Lyon are bottom with zero.
