GLASGOW Warriors have signed Argentina international Enrique Pieretto from Exeter Chiefs on a two-year contract. The 25-year-old prop, who will move to Scotstoun in the summer subject to a visa and a medical, was part of the Pumas squad at last year’s World Cup and has 24 caps.

Pieretto, who only joined Exeter late last year, said he had discussed the move north with incoming Warriors coach Danny Wilson, who will take over from Dave Rennie at the end of this season and has already been working on player recruitment and retention. “Glasgow Warriors is a great club with great players and I chose to join to improve and grow as a player,” Pieretto said. “I can learn a lot from the coaches and players. It’s a good opportunity for me and I’m extremely grateful for that.

“I spoke to Danny [Wilson] and he told me his plans for the future. I’m excited about his vision and I’m looking forward to playing for him and the other coaches.

“It’s a fast pitch at Scotstoun and the fans are really noisy. I enjoyed playing there last month with Exeter Chiefs. I will give everything to the club and supporters when I join next season.”

Pieretto played against Glasgow in last month’s Champions Cup game at Scotstoun. Wilson said he was impressed bu  the front-row forward’s “abrasive and aggressive” scrummaging.
