SAM JOHNSON will line-up at inside-centre for Glasgow Warriors in tomorrow night’s United Rugby Championship clash against Munster at Scotstoun, just six-days after playing a solid 59 minutes in Scotland’s Calcutta Cup triumph over England at Murrayfield last Saturday.
Winger Rufus McLean and second-row Scott Cummings have also been released from the international training squad to bolster a strong-looking Warriors side who could move level with Ulster at the summit of the United Rugby Championship table if they secure a bonus-point win and Edinburgh lose their match away to Leinster.
Meanwhile, Danny Wilson will not attend the match as he has tested positive to Covid, so attack coach Nigel Carolan will take charge of the team. Full-back Josh McKay, stand-off Ross Thompson and back-five forward Rob Harley are listed as unavailable for selection.

“We were really pleased with our performance against Connacht two weeks ago – we played in the right areas of the pitch and created a lot of scoring opportunities,” said Carolan.
“There’s a lot of history between us and Munster – they are a quality side and tomorrow night we’ll need to bring the same defensive energy and attacking intent.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming Robbie Fergusson back, for his first involvement of the season, and our internationals Scott Cummings, Sam Johnson and Rufus McLean.
“It’s great to be back at Scotstoun on a Friday night and we’re looking forward to the challenge of Munster.”
