MIKE BLAIR has made four changes to his Edinburgh team for tomorrow’s Challenge Cup quarter-final against Wasps, three in the pack and one in the backs.

Chris Dean is the one alteration to the back division that began last week’s URC defeat by Ulster, replacing the injured James Lang at inside centre. In the front row, Harrison Courtney starts at loosehead prop instead of Pierre Schoeman and hooker Adam McBurney takes over from the injured Stuart McInally. In the back row Connor Boyle is at openside in place of Hamish Watson, who drops out of the squad and is apparently being rested.

“We’ve spoken a lot this week about our journey to this point in the season and the hard work that has gone in to get us into the last eight of Europe,” Blair said after announcing his team. “Looking back at the games against Saracens and Bath, those great wins were built on a desire to play for the club and your team-mates, and taking pride in pulling on the Edinburgh jersey and representing the city.

“We know that Wasps are a quality opponent, and Saturday is going to be another huge test, but it’s one we relish. We love playing for our fans and we feed off their noise and support, which will be important as ever this weekend.”

Luan de Bruin, Dave Cherry, Darcy Graham, Nick Haining, Henry Immelman, James Lang, Viliame Mata, Stuart McInally, Ben Muncaster, Ramiro Moyano, Marshall Sykes, Jamie Ritchie, Ben Toolis, Boan Venter, Angus Williams and Glen Young are all listed as unavailable. In almost all cases that is because of injury, although Graham is close to a comeback, while Sykes is serving a suspension.

  1. This will be a tough ask against a very strong Wasps team. There’s a decent Edinburgh XV on the injured list with about 2 back rows and so it’s a reflection of the squad depth that we can still put out a decent team,
