Date announced for Edinburgh’s Challenge Cup quarter-final

EDINBURGH will play Bordeaux-Begles in the quarter-finals of the Challenge Cup on Saturday 4 April, tournament organisers EPCR have announced. The match at the Stade Chaban-Delmas kicks off at 9.15pm local time and will be broadcast on BT Sport.

Should Edinburgh win, they will have to wait until the following day to find out their opponents in the semi-final, as Bristol Bears and Dragons meet at Ashton Gate on Sunday. In the other half of the draw, the winners of the quarter-final on Friday night between Toulon and Scarlets will play the winners of Saturday lunchtime’s clash between Leicester and Castres. Venues for the semi-finals will be announced in due course.

Friday 3 April: RC Toulon v Scarlets (Stade Felix Mayol, 9pm)

Sat 4: Leicester Tigers v Castres Olympique (Welford Road, 12.45pm)

Sat 4: Bordeaux-Begles v Edinburgh (Stade Chaban-Delmas, 9.15pm)

Sun 5: Bristol Bears v Dragons (Ashton Gate, 12.45pm)

Semi-finals: Toulon or Scarlets v Leicester or Castres, Bordeaux or Edinburgh v Bristol or Dragons.

Sat 4: Exeter Chiefs v Northampton Saints (Sandy Park, 3.15pm)

Sat 4: Clermont Auvergne v Racing 92 (Stade Marcel-Michelin, 4.15pm)

Sat 4: Leinster v Saracens (Aviva Stadium, 5.45pm)

Sun 5: Toulouse v Ulster (Le Stadium, 4.15pm)

Semi-finals: Leinster or Saracens v Clermont or Racing, Toulouse or Ulster v Exeter or Northampton.
