Cardiff v Glasgow: Lee and Huw Jones return to Warriors squad

Ratu Tagive and Kiran McDonald are also reinstated to team for PRO14 fixture in Newport

LEE Jones will make his first appearance for Glasgow in nearly two years against Cardiff tomorrow night, while his namesake Huw has been released by Scotland and will start on the bench.

Since injuring a knee at the start of 2019, Lee Jones has had several setbacks, but finally regained full fitness earlier this month. He takes over on the right wing from Tommy Seymour, who was concussed in the first half of the loss to Munster on Monday night and has yet to pass his protocols.

Head coach Danny Wilson has made two other changes to his starting line-up from that 27-13 defeat by the Irish province, bringing in Ratu Tagive for Robbie Nairn on the left wing and welcoming Kiran McDonald back at lock. With Rob Harley moving to blindside, McDonald is an indirect replacement for back-row forward TJ Ioane, who drops to the bench. Hamish Bain misses out.

Huw Jones takes over as a substitute back from Niko Matawalu, while the other change to the replacements sees the return of Jamie Dobie as back-up scrum-half. Richie Gray, like Seymour, has still to be passed fit to resume playing after being concussed.

Five other players are named as unavailable due to injury: Chris Fusaro, Adam Hastings, Stafford McDowall, Leone Nakarawa, Kyle Steyn. Nine are on Scotland duty:  Fraser Brown, Scott Cummings, Matt and Zander Fagerson, George Horne, Sam Johnson, Oli Kebble, Ali Price, and George Turner.
