PAT MACARTHUR has committed to a two year contract as head coach of Ayrshire Bulls. The former Glasgow Warriors and Scotland hooker, who came through the ranks at Millbrae, is currently in his second stint as interim head coach at the Super6 franchise, having stepped up from an assistant role following the departures to Glasgow Warriors of Pete Murchie in March 2021 and then Pete Horne in the summer just past

This new deal allows for a flexible working arrangement alongside MacArthur’s current career as a project manager with Cala Group Limited.

“The head coach selection process took place over a four month period and despite his work commitments as a civil engineer, MacArthur remained the best candidate for the job with his proven track record,” said a statement from the Bulls. “He will perform the role to the same specifications as the five other coaches, with a unique schedule to support him. This model has been developed over the past three years taking into consideration how he has managed the role in the past.”

Some might argue that its a mixed bag with some encouraging positives.
Would you have stopped the Olympic 100 metres final halfroads because 7 of the 8 wouldn’t win?

      • What a bizarre question but to give you an answer which it really doesn’t deserve –

Firstly I wouldn’t stop any event midway through and secondly I wouldn’t stop an Olympic 100 meters final from taking place because it is a proper competition with proper participants not a badly thought out nonsense with artificial participants.

No because the Olympic 100 metres final is a proper event and properly organised.

    • Yes, Super6 will last until 31.10.24 so Pat MacArthur’s appointment makes sense to cover this period.
