THE Annual General Meeting for the Scottish Rugby Union will happen in two stages this year in response to the logistical challenges posed by the Covid-19 safety measures being implemented by the Scottish Government.
The first stage will occur on the initially scheduled date of 15th August via video conference and will deal with a number of items of core business, including the ratification of current Vice- President Ian Barr as President of the Union, the election of a new Vice-President, the election of an Exiles Club Representative to Council, and a vote on the Full Member club nomination from Royal High Rugby.
This will enable the new President’s term in office to begin and the new Council to be established as originally planned.
The remainder of the meeting will be adjourned to a later date (to be determined in due course) when the remaining business, including consideration and the vote on the two motions (plus amendments) which have been submitted by clubs.
The formal notice calling the meeting, together with details of the business to be conducted, supporting documentation and details on how to participate will be circulated to member clubs in due course.
