THE 1872 CUP clash between Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh, which was supposed to be played last Friday but postponed due to a frozen pitch at Scotstoun, has been rescheduled for this coming Saturday at 5.15pm.
With the European fixtures planned over the next fortnight being postponed yesterday due to French concerns about exposure to the new variant of coronavirus, the PRO14 has moved quickly to fill the gap which has been created in the rugby calendar.
Munster’s match against Leinster has also been rescheduled for the following weekend (23td January).

Edinburgh won the first leg of this season’s three-match inter-city series on 2nd January and will claim the trophy if they come out on top on Saturday. However, if Warriors win then the third leg – on a yet to be confirmed date – will become a winner-takes-all shoot-out.
Of more immediate concern to both teams will be the valuable league points which are up for grabs, with Edinburgh and Warriors each scrambling to keep in the race to qualify for the Champions Cup next season.
